In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:11-14
By becoming a child of God (being saved – born again) a person has gained a Father and an amazing inheritance. That inheritance is eternal life with Christ Jesus.
Think about it. A lot of stress and anxiety comes from the worry of how we may have enough money for living in this world. A lot of stress and anxiety comes from desiring material things to be like other people. The Bible teaches us that we should not worry so much about these things. Our Father in heaven takes care of us.
Jesus said the following words concerning what to eat, what to drink, and what to wear.
“But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33,34
Don’t be so caught up in the material things of the world. Our salvation through Christ Jesus gives hope for a beautiful eternal life. Stay strong and do not be consumed by this material world.
Jesus said the following words concerning the treasure we should seek.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
Jesus gives us hope and calms our troubled minds with these words.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know and the way you know.” John 14:1-3
Such a gift we do not deserve. But thank you Jesus, for by grace we are saved! Imagine how wonderful it will be! We are heirs to a magnificent kingdom.
Therefore, brethren we are debtors – not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:15-17
If you have not made a decision to follow Jesus and receive the free gift of salvation, do not wait! Now is the time. Today is the day! Do so and become a joint heir with Christ. Seek God’s kingdom first. See our link Salvation, The Gift, and Signs of Jesus Return.
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24
Mammon is defined as wealth and riches.
Right now in this present time, unlike ever before, we are all (the entire world) having to choose who we will follow, who we will serve, who we will listen to, and who we will trust. Right now we are all having to make decisions that affect our bodies, our finances, and our faith (who we choose to serve).
The easy way is the wide path and on it you do what the world says to do. The narrow path is the path to eternal life in Jesus Christ. This path may not be easy. It may be with tribulation. BUT it is the only one that leads to life. See our link Choose Life.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6
Before we close today, if you are not saved, please make a decision for Christ. With all honesty and true belief make the following commitment.
A. Admit that you are a sinner.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
B. Believe that Jesus is Son of God that was born, lived, taught, healed and performed miracles, was crucified on the cross, rose in 3 days and is now in heaven. Jesus shed his blood on the cross for our sins.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him for the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
C. Confess your sins.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
